CARBONDALE, Ill. — Shouts of joy echoed throughout Southern Illinois' campus as Missouri State players danced their way into the postgame locker room — a theme that's starting to become common when the Bears go up against some of the nation's best.
Missouri State was just minutes removed from wrapping up a 38-28 win against No. 7 Southern Illinois. A second-half explosion from the Bears' offense, combined with a playoff-ready defense, had Missouri State looking as good as it has all season.
"This is just going to motivate us to keep going," starting safety Titus Wall said.
