Missouri State did what it was supposed to do on Saturday night and it will now wait to learn its playoff fate.
The Bears (8-3, 6-2) finished the regular season with a 55-24 win over Dixie State (1-10) on Saturday night in St. George, Utah.
MSU is a lock to make the postseason for the second season in a row. When and where the Bears will play will be announced during the FCS Playoffs Selection Show on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. on ESPNU.
With the win, the Bears secured their first eight-win season since 1990 when the Bears went 9-3 and qualified for the postseason under Jesse Branch.
