Missouri State traveled to Murray State on Saturday looking to learn a lot about themselves against an opponent familiar to head coach Dana Ford.
Ford, who coached in the Ohio Valley Conference before coming to Missouri State, had little success against the Racers, winning just one contest in four years.
That trend continued Saturday in Missouri State's (3-3) 77-66 loss in Murray, Kentucky.
The Racers raced to a commanding 14-point lead behind a 9-0 run in the first eight minutes of the game, and it didn’t get better until late in the second half.
The Bears struggled to put the ball in the basket, scoring just 14 points in the first 15 minutes of the game.
