Missouri State coach Bobby Petrino named Valley's coach of the year

Bobby Petrino took a 1-10 football team and made it a champion and has it in the playoffs for the first time in over three decades.

Now he's the Missouri Valley Football Conference's coach of the year.

Petrino was announced as the league's top head coach on Thursday afternoon. He is the first Missouri State coach to win the award since Jesse Branch who won it back-to-back in 1989 and 1990.

Additionally, sophomore defensive back Montrae Braswell was named a First Team All-MVFC player.
