For the second time in three seasons, the Bears entered the year with high expectations. After Tuesday night, the Bears have started both of those seasons off on the wrong foot.
Missouri State (0-1) began the season with a 99-94 loss to Southeast Missouri State (1-0) at JQH Arena. The Bears entered the game as a 16-point favorite against a team that was picked to finish seventh in the Ohio Valley Conference.
Missouri State will stay at home for a game Saturday at 7 p.m. against Alabama State.
Defensive struggles and a lack of 3-point shooting from the Bears had them trailing going into the half.
