Against a team that looked like the class of the Missouri Valley Conference, the Bears didn't have any answers and turned in their least inspiring performance of the season thus far.
And the performance will go down as one of the Bears' worst in decades.
Missouri State (4-4, 1-1) left much to be desired following a 58-40 loss to Bradley (6-3, 2-0) to cap off the two early MVC showdowns. The Bears will resume non-conference play Wednesday night at *gulp* Saint Mary's who entered Saturday as the No. 29 team in the latest KenPom rankings.
The Bears' 40 points were the fewest they've scored in Springfield since March 8, 1950, in a 39-38 loss to Central Methodist in the NAIA District 16 Playoffs which were held on campus sites.
