After losing four-straight, a two-game sweep over the Missouri Valley Conference's worst was exactly what the Bears needed.
Missouri State (11-5, 7-5) finished the weekend series at Illinois State (5-14, 2-11) with a 72-62 win at Redbird Arena in Normal, Illinois.
The Bears will be back at JQH Arena for a Wednesday matchup with Southern Illinois at 7 p.m.
Strong shooting to close out the first half and dominant play inside the paint led to the Bears taking a commanding lead into the break.
The first 10 minutes of the game saw the two teams go back-and-forth until the score was tied at 19 with 7:57 left before half.
