Missouri State couldn't get the stops it needed in a game for first place atop the Missouri Valley Conference in its showdown with Loyola Chicago on Sunday afternoon.
The Ramblers (18-4, 9-2) remain atop the league standings with a 71-62 win against the Bears (17-8, 8-4). Missouri State now sits alone in fourth place in what appears to be a four-team race for the regular-season title.
An important stretch for the Bears continues Wednesday at 7 p.m. when the Bears travel to third-place Drake (17-7, 8-3) in Des Moines, Iowa.
