Missouri State baseball is going to make a change at hitting coach after another losing season.
Matt Lawson won't return as the Bears' hitting coach in 2022, multiple sources tell the News-Leader. Kendall Rogers of D1Baseball was the first to report.
One source told the News-Leader that exit interviews with players following the 2021 season were "the last straw."
Lawson had been the Bears' hitting instructor since the start of the 2018 season. He was a two-time All-Missouri Valley Conference honoree as a player at Missouri State from 2005-07.
Under his leadership, the Bears' offense rapidly declined.
