Following nuisance complaints received each year, Missouri Department of Conservation is reminding anglers to properly dispose of waste when cleaning fish, especially during the paddlefish snagging season.
"It’s important for anglers to do their part to keep fishing areas clean for others to enjoy," MDC stated via news release.
Aside from using trash receptacles, anglers can dispose of fish-cleaning waste into deep water or in the flowing parts of streams.
"This assures waste cannot wash up to the bank or be concentrated in one area," MDC said.

The Wildlife Code of Missouri says that extracted paddlefish eggs may not be possessed while on the water or adjacent banks, and it may not be transported.
