Experienced Missouri birders are needed to help in a survey.
The Missouri Department of Conservation released a call for volunteers to assist with two vacant bird-observation routes in the state from May 27 to July 7. This project is part of the 2021 North American Breeding Bird Survey. This past year's bird survey was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to MDC.
The two locations where volunteers are needed include Rensselaer in Ralls County and Madison in Monroe County. Participants will need to conduct their survey one day during that time period.
The survey is a long-term, large-scale, international bird monitoring program started in 1966.
