Springfield’s league where “every child deserves the chance to play ball” gained a mid-season boost.
The fully-accessible baseball league for kids and adults with physical and developmental disabilities received a $2,000 sporting goods shopping spree from Academy Sports and Outdoors. Former Kansas City Royals pitching ace Dennis Leonard was on hand to help Miracle League volunteers pick out gear for the players.
Whether you’re a tee ball player or a pro, Leonard said it’s important to enjoy the game for what it is, a game.
