The Missouri State men’s basketball team resorted to its beginning-of-the-season habits. The Bears are now 2-4 in one-possession games.
Missouri State trailed Drake by 13 points with 11 minutes to go in Sunday’s game. The Bears’ comeback attempt came up short once again in a 71-69 loss to the Bulldogs.
Drake held a 37-25 at halftime, holding the Bears to 2-for-13 from beyond the arc in the first 20 minutes of regulation. The Bulldogs extended that lead into the first minutes of the second half until Missouri State’s defense caught a second wind.
The Bears held the Bulldogs to no field goals for over seven minutes to chip away at the lead, going on a 9-2 run to make it a two-possession game with just under five minutes to play.
