The championship hunger never stops for Walnut Grove.
“It’s kind of an expectation in this community,” admits Mckayla McVay.
She personally lived up to the lofty expectations on Friday afternoon even though she is just 12 games into returning from a summer ACL injury.
She hit all six of Walnut Grove’s 3-point shots and totaled 20 points to help lead the Lady Tigers to a 52-41 victory over South Nodaway in the Class 1 girls championship game at JQH Arena.
Walnut Grove has won back-to-back titles several times and the current team now has two in a row.
