A couple thousand Missouri State fans braved the conditions to watch their Bears play their in-state rivals and head coach Paul Lusk was apologetic for the product his team produced.
“I apologize for fans coming out to watch that,” Lusk said. “I guess I’ll accept some responsibility, and I usually take some bullets for these guys, but that was unacceptable.”
Coaches tend to have that type of reaction after an embarrassing loss, but Lusk was apologizing for a 71-66 win over Southeast Missouri State (4-7).
“We haven’t played like that all year,” Lusk said. “To throw the ball around like the way we threw the ball around today was embarrassing.
