Lu'Cye Patterson, Jalen Hampton leaving Missouri State men's basketball

The 2022-23 Missouri State men's basketball roster got more clarity on Tuesday with the departure of two players.

Starting guard Lu'Cye Patterson and incoming freshman Jalen Hampton each announced they won't play for the Bears next season.

Patterson started 26 games for the Bears this past season and averaged 7.4 points and 2.2 assists per game. He played 57 games over his two-year Missouri State career. He will enter the transfer portal. Only Raphe Ayres remains from Dana Ford's 2020 freshman signing class.

Hampton was an incoming freshman from Link Year Prep in Branson. He announced his commitment in a tweet on Tuesday morning and could be a candidate to follow former MSU associate head coach Corey Gipson to Northwestern State — where Gipson is now the head coach.
