After two seasons as the Bears’ head coach, Dave Steckel isn’t pleased with how those seasons went.
His first season, the team went 1-10. The second, they improved to 4-7.
“I think we suck,” Steckel said. “We’re not successful. That’s what we have to do, is keep working. Did we show improvement? The answer is yes.
“People keep saying that we’re going in the right direction, but I’m not good with directions. I’m good with destinations. So we need to get to a destination.”
Where is that destination?
“The championship.”
Missouri State football enters the 2017 season with a lot of unknowns while taking on one of the toughest schedules in the FCS.
