The south side’s decades old rivalry between Kickapoo and Glendale renews Tuesday night in central Springfield on a basketball court.
Class 4 No. 2 Kickapoo squares off with Glendale at the O’Reilly Family Event Center on the Drury University campus Tuesday at approximately 7:30 p.m. Kickapoo holds a slight 49-46 advantage going into what will be the 96th meeting between the two boys basketball teams since Kickapoo opened in 1971.
Drury University first hosted the two rivals in 2004.
“We appreciate Drury hosting us,” Kickapoo coach Dick Rippee said. “It will be a great atmosphere and a lot of fun.
