For the second year in a row, the Bears are going dancing.
Missouri State won its fourth Missouri Valley Conference tournament in school history with a 7-6 win over Dallas Baptist on Sunday in Dallas.
The win secures the Bears an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Star shortstop Jeremy Eierman tied the game with a two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to force extras. John Privitera walked it off in the bottom of the tenth to give the Bears a championship.
With the Bears’ regular three weekend-rotation starters having already pitched in the tournament, MSU head coach Keith Guttin turned to sophomore pitcher Tyler McAlister who made his first start since March 21.
