The Missouri State University women’s basketball team was eliminated from the Credit Union 1 Missouri Valley Conference Tournament on Saturday in the semifinal round to the Belmont University Bruins 76-67.
The Lady Bears played Belmont two weeks ago, near the end of the regular season and fell 67-61. Head coach Beth Cunningham said she felt the loss might have helped MSU in the semifinals, but evidently it didn’t work out that way.
“Any time we’ve lost to a team, I just like our chances,” Cunningham said. “I think it leaves a sour taste in our mouths, I think we learn a lot from it.
