The Missouri State Lady Bears defeated the Southeast Missouri State University Redhawks in the MSU home opener on Wednesday night, though the win did not come without challenges.
Throughout the first quarter, the Redhawks held the Lady Bears to a field goal percentage of 30.8, while forcing far more turnovers than MSU and making most of their shots from the free throw line.
Missouri State struggled with their free throws in the first and fourth quarters. In the first quarter, junior forward Kennedy Taylor attempted four and made one, though junior guard Lacy Stokes made both of the two she attempted.
