The Missouri State University Lady Bears defeated the Oral Roberts University Golden Eagles 107-76 in the inaugural round of the Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT) on Thursday.
Within the first 18 seconds of the contest, senior guard Lacy Stokes controlled the tip and sunk a turnaround jumper to give the Lady Bears their first lead of the contest. They never surrendered it from there.
Missouri State proceeded to go on a 12-0 run to start the game with three-pointers from Stokes and senior guard Paige Rocca.
“We (had) an emphasis on setting the tone early,” Stokes said after the game.
