As mentioned the Lady Bears played SIU on Friday in Carbondale, Illinois. but fell short to the Salukis in a back-and-forth contest. MSU came into the game having won eight out of their last nine games. They also had 17 straight victories against Illinois schools.
The first half featured ten lead changes and five ties which is where the game stood at halftime. The Lady Bears held a 24-16 advantage in the second quarter, but a 12-4 run to end the half by SIU made it a 28-all game. The second half was about the hot shooting of SIU.
