Lady Bears hold out against Valparaiso for fourth straight win

The Lady Bears have hit a winning streak for the past four games, and they aren’t showing any sign of slowing down.

MSU (10-8, 6-1) defeated the Valparaiso Crusaders (9-8, 2-4) in an 83-60 win Friday, Jan. 19.

A full-team effort was sustained by the Lady Bears, led by seniors Liza Fruendt, with 33 points, and Aubrey Buckley with 17.

The first quarter started out with a jumper and a 3-pointer from Fruendt, followed up by a 3-pointer from Alexa Willard.

The Crusaders outscored MSU 6-4 in the paint, but the Lady Bears outrebounded Valpo 15-7 and hit enough shots to come out on top, 20-10.
