The post-game press conference following the Lady Bears’ 66-57 victory over Northern Iowa at JQH Arena on Sunday was delayed briefly while Lady Bears’ senior Sydney Wilson chugged a bottle of water.
After playing all 40 minutes and scoring a game-high 18 points, No. 21 in white deserved the break.
Wilson and Abi Jackson fueled a 12-1 run early in the fourth quarter and the Lady Bears pulled away from the pesky Panthers to keep pace in a crowded field atop the MVC standings.
“I’m tired, for sure,” Wilson said after shooting 4-for-5 from the field and connecting on both 3-point attempts and 8-of-11 free throws.
