South Dakota’s balanced offensive attack overwhelmed the Lady Bears in the second half and the Coyotes defeated Missouri State, 85-74, on Tuesday night at JQH Arena.
Ciara Duffy led South Dakota (8-1) with a game-high 23 points. Four Coyotes reached double figures as MSU (1-5) surrendered a season-high in points.
South Dakota shot 92% in the third quarter, connecting on 11-of-12 attempts from the field.
“There are a lot of teams that could take 12 shots in a quarter and not make half of them, unguarded,” said Lady Bears head coach Kellie Harper. “Obviously we were trying to guard, we just were a step late and we had a few breakdowns and lost focus.
