After an unwelcome 27-day layoff and game schedule adjusted due to the coronavirus, the Lady Bears finally took the court on Friday night and looked no worse for wear.
Brice Calip scored a game-high 20 points and Jasmine Franklin notched a double-double to lead the Lady Bears to a 70-51 win at Northern Iowa in MSU’s Missouri Valley Conference opener. The Lady Bears led from the opening tip to the final buzzer at McLeod Center in Cedar Falls.
“I’m super proud of our players and the resilience they showed,” Missouri State head coach Amaka Agugua-Hamilton said on the post-game radio show.
