Missouri State basketball fans were buzzing at JQH Arena on Saturday afternoon as they witnessed the dawning of a new era.
And no, the excitement had nothing to do with Dana Ford or the new-look men’s team.
Sparked by a dynamic group of freshmen, the Lady Bears blasted Ball State 74-54 to capture their first win of the 2018-19 campaign. MSU (1-2) controlled every facet of the game and held the lead for all but 31 seconds.
Danielle Gitzen and Emily Gardner scored 13 points to lead MSU and Sydney Manning also reached double figures with 12 points.
