It was a 2 p.m. game on a Sunday in February that broke an 11-game home winning streak last year. In 2025, the Lady Bears extended it to 12.
Missouri State University’s women’s basketball team defeated the Valparaiso University Beacons, 79-63, in an up, then down, then up again game to hold off another visitor. On top of it, a boisterous crowd that sounded louder than the announced 2,592 showed up to cheer for the team in spite of incoming snow and ice that is as cold as senior point guard Lacy Stokes in the game.
The Lady Bears now hold a 12-0 record at home in the 2024-25 season and stand firmly in first place in the Missouri Valley Conference with a conference record of 12-2 and an overall record of 20-5.
