Missouri State was hungry to snap their losing streak after dropping two straight heartbreakers to Memphis. For starting pitcher Austin Knight, Tuesday’s victory had to have tasted sweeter than the peanut butter and banana sandwich he had before the game.
The Bears (14-6) controlled the game from the opening frame as they coasted to a 7-2 win over New Orleans.
Knight went seven innings while only allowing five hits. His pregame routine was thrown off as the first pitch was moved from a 6:35 p.m. start time to a 3:05 p.m. start time that morning.
“I didn’t get to eat what I wanted to eat,” Knight said.
