In a mid-December game against Cardinal Ritter, the Kickapoo Chiefs found themselves down 12 at halftime. It was just the week before when Greenwood rallied from down 10 with under seven minutes to go to beat the Chiefs.
An emotional loss for the state's most talented roster looked like it was going to be followed by another to the defending Class 3 state champs.
