Kickapoo players used to be 'embarrassed' to wear jerseys. Now at 3-0, their pride is back.

Coming off beating Waynesville 38-18, the Kickapoo Chiefs are undefeated three games in for the first time since 2016.

If you go back two years, things were different for this team. And not in a good way.

The 2018 season saw Kickapoo on the receiving end of a 77-13 thrashing by Joplin in the first round of the playoffs — ending the year with a 2-8 record.

“It was just embarrassing,” senior offensive lineman Logan Whitley said.
