Keandre Cook missed a 15-foot shot, from his knees after a loose-ball scramble, just ahead of the halftime buzzer. That was about the only thing Missouri State’s senior guard missed on Sunday.
As his teammates struggled to find offensive flow, Cook poured in a career-high 31 points as Missouri State found the win column for the first time this season with an aesthetically challenged 59-50 victory over Alabama State.
“It was obviously not a beautiful basketball game by any stretch of the imagination,” Bears coach Dana Ford said. “But it’s always better to win and learn than lose and learn, like we had to do all week this past week.
