Third-baseman Jordan Walker became the highest-ranked MLB prospect to wear a Springfield Cardinals uniform when MLB Pipeline updated its rankings on Wednesday.
Walker is now the seventh-ranked prospect in all of baseball making him the first-ever SpringBird to rank in the top 10. He was previously ranked 23rd and is now younger than any of the players ranked ahead of him.
Springfield shortstop Masyn Winn also cracked the top 100 at 92. He's been in Springfield since late May and has batted .250 while hitting six home runs in 36 games.
So far, Walker has spent his entire 2022 season in Springfield and is being projected as a big leaguer at some point in 2023 when previously projected to join the team in 2024.
