The coming winter months are great for eagle watching in Missouri.
According to the Missouri Department of Conservation, now through February is an excellent time for spotting eagles across the Show-Me State. Thanks to its many rivers, lakes and wetlands, Missouri is one of the leading lower 48 states for bald eagle viewing, according to the conservation department.
“Each fall, thousands of these great birds migrate south from their nesting range in Canada and the Great Lakes states to hunt in Missouri,” MDC said in a news release. “Eagles take up residence wherever they find open water and plentiful food.
