With only a couple of hours to go until the start of the first Missouri State home track and field meet in eight years, the team’s coaches and staff were still busy setting up equipment, banner ads and even music at the new Betty & Bob Allison South Stadium, which was financed by student fees.
“I promise you I didn’t pick this music,” head coach Ronald Boyce said of the tranquil electronic beat pulsating from the stadium’s speakers.
Boyce and his team were in charge of every detail leading up to the meet. From choosing the soundtrack, recruiting volunteers to work the meet and ensuring a strong attendance, Boyce and his girls had their hands full.
