The Nixa boys basketball team is heading to the state title game.
And if you ask those around the team, it’s an appearance over a decade in the making.
“We’ve been looking at this since we were little,” senior guard Kael Combs said. “This means a ton to us.”
Nixa has homegrown talent that has been together since elementary school and is finally getting its shot.
Players like Combs and Colin Ruffin are now some of the best in the state while those in the community have known about them for quite a while now.
