Missouri State might have looked the best it has all season but it wasn't enough to pull off the upset.
No. 21 Xavier held on for a 59-56 win over Missouri State (2-2) on Friday night in Cincinnati.
Missouri State hasn't beaten a ranked opponent since Dec. 28, 2011, in its first year under Paul Lusk. The Bears have now lost 21-consecutive games to Top 25 programs.
The Bears will now travel to South Carolina for next week's Charleston Classic. MSU will open up tournament play against Miami (Florida) at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.
