After last week’s performance in Missouri State’s 59-20 homecoming win over Indiana State, sophomore quarterback Peyton Huslig earned Missouri Valley Newcomer of the Week honors for the second time this season.
Huslig completed 12-of-14 passes for 211 yards and a pair of touchdowns against the Sycamores. He also rushed for two touchdowns, compiling 174 ground yards on just seven carries to finish with 385 yards of total offense.
His rushing total marked the most yards ever by a Bears quarterback in a single game, breaking the previous standard of 148 yards, set by MSU legend DeAndre Smith in 1989.
