NIXA — In the first half of Republic's district championship showdown with Kickapoo, the Lady Chiefs threw a defense at Kaemyn Bekemeier that they hadn't thrown at her in previous matchups.
A box and one defense made life difficult for the Missouri State signee who could win district games all by herself if she got going. Through the first 15 minutes and 50 seconds of the first half, the Lady Chiefs held her to just six points.
But when she got the ball in the final 10 seconds, you knew there was no chance she was going to let it get the best of her.
