Dylan Cole is lying down, surrounded by 20 other men clad in maroon and grey. He is pushing 225 pounds of weight off his chest, fast, repeatedly.
“Go to work!” someone nearby yells.
The men around him are quiet, tense with anticipation.
“Ten! One! Two! Three!”
The men lean in. They break their silence with shouts that blend together. As they get louder and closer, the lifting slows down.
“Thirty!”
He holds the weight, arms outstretched, as high as he can, gathering himself.
“Let’s go Cole!”
He lowers and lifts the weight again, slowly, and each time the yells get louder and the men closer.
