Despite finishing with a 9-4 record at home and hosting critical games in the Missouri Valley Conference race, the 2020-21 Missouri State men's basketball season will go down as the least attended season in program history.
And COVID-19 will be to blame.
Missouri State set program lows for attendance throughout the season — lows that will certainly have asterisks next to them due to the ongoing pandemic.
JQH Arena was limited to 3,991 fans in 2020-21 compared to its typical capacity of 11,000 due to local health guidelines. Other factors including weather and unorthodox scheduling also contributed to the lows.
