Former Nixa standout Dean Deetz has been suspended 80 games after testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs, according to USA Today's Bob Nightengale.
MLB.com's Mark Feinsand reported Deetz's suspension will be without pay after testing positive for dehydrochlormethyltestosterone, a performance-enhancing substance, and that his suspension will start at the beginning of the regular season.
In a statement released by the MLB Players Association, Deetz said he's never knowingly taken a performance-enhancing drug.
"Let me say first and foremost that I have never knowingly taken a performance substance of any kind," Deetz said.
