Springfield hosts some of the best high school basketball players in Missouri for a weekend all-star tournament this weekend.
The Missouri Basketball Coaches Association will put on a pair of tournaments as part of the 2016 Missouri Challenge, which features about 160 of the state’s top graduating high school senior boys and girls players. The teams are divided based on the eight regions of Missouri that the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association is divided into.
A loaded Southwest Missouri girls team won the Missouri Challenge last season with Hillcrest coach Jeni Hopkins at the helm. This season, the Southwest Missouri girls will be coached by Class 2 Coach of the Year award winner Jeremy Mullins of Crane, the four-time reigning and defending state champions.
