TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – When Missouri State coach Dave Steckel looks back on his first victory in the Missouri Valley Football Conference, he’ll likely want to focus more on the second half than the first.
That’s when the Bears outscored Indiana State 21-0, forced four Sycamore turnovers and dominated on both sides of the ball.
It all added up to a 45-24 victory, spoiling Indiana State’s homecoming and ending Missouri State’s 13-game losing streak in the Valley.
“Any win is great,” Steckel said. “This is a great win, and I’m going to enjoy it for 24 hours and then get back to work.
