Help birds not break their necks during fall migrations

It's a sad and all-too-familiar sound.

That sickening thump against the window. The crumpled feathery form down below.

The Missouri Department of Conservation notes that the fall bird migration is amazing for birdwatching, but can be deadly to many birds attracted to windows on homes.

According to MDC, millions of avian deaths occur each year due to birds colliding with windows and other reflective surfaces during their migration.

MDC encourages people to make small changes at their home or office to prevent birds from fatally flying into windows and breaking their necks or suffering other injuries.
