All Monty Johal needed going into Tuesday's game was three points to break the Springfield Public Schools scoring record.
The record, set by former Hillcrest star Dorial Green-Beckham in 2012, was broken during Glendale's Tuesday night game at Camdenton.
Johal, on his birthday, scored 41 points in the Falcons' 80-55 win at Camdenton.
It took Johal less than half a quarter to break the record. Johal drove to the basket after catching a pass on the wing to lay in the record-breaking score with 5:44 left in the first.
The senior ended the game with 2,137 career points.
