A person overnight drove a vehicle onto the Glendale High School football field and drove into the bleachers causing "significant damage," a Springfield Public Schools spokesperson confirmed to the News-Leader on Tuesday.
Glendale High School is currently renovating its football stadium with a new turf playing surface.
SPS spokesperson Stephen Hall said the rock base of the stadium is on the field at the moment and the damage assessment is ongoing.
"We do not believe the damage to the rock base will significantly delay the installation of the field," Hall said.
Hall said the investigation is ongoing and the individual responsible for the damage has been identified and is cooperating.
