Freshman Reid Jarvis played through one of the most pressure-packed scenarios in high school tennis, and Glendale has a district championship to show for it.
Jarvis had to come from behind in a pivotal third set to help Glendale edge Kickapoo five matches to four for the Class 2 District 11 championship Wednesday afternoon at Cooper Tennis Complex. Kickapoo (17-3) took two of the three doubles matches to start the duel, and after some singles matches concluded, Jarvis found himself facing Garrett Howard with the teams tied at four wins apiece.
Glendale’s top four singles players held true to form.
