Two weeks removed from Lebanon beating it on a last-second field goal, Glendale has bounced back for two-straight wins — including Friday night's hard-fought win over Kickapoo to keep its Ozark Conference title hopes alive.
After the 18-14 win, the team huddled at midfield. Head coach Mike Mauk said some words, the team prayed and then broke the huddle with a resounding “championship!”
“I don’t think you go through life trying to be average or mediocre,” Mauk said. “I’ve never had our team say ‘let’s be average or mediocre.
